Established in 1967 by the late Mayer Kass
Mayer's Cars and Trucks Ltd. began as the exclusive importer of Volvo products to Israel.
Beginning with cars, the company gradually added trucks, buses, engines and heavy mechanical machinery.
Over the years the company has developed an advanced sales and customer service network with a logistics support system and a range of complementary services such as leasing, trade-in, insurance, funding and more.
During the 90s, the company

(cars, motorbikes and engines), Jaguar and Renault trucks. In addition to its vehicle imports, Mayer acquired other companies with similar or complementary interests. Together they now form the leading vehicle group in Israel - Hertz Car Rental, Auto Center (second-hand cars), Kavim (public transport), Merkavim (bus chassis), Kogol Unitrade (Michelin tire importers), Mayer Ramot insurance services, Israel Phoenix and others. The Mayer Group is also the sole owner of the Maccabi Haifa Football Club and a number of overseas companies active in real estate and public transport.
The group employs more than 2,500 workers and operates 32 sales agencies and more than 60 service centers and workshops across Israel.
Its overall turnover in 2011 was approximately $1.5 billion.
