Honda’s illustrious legacy is replete with significant successes and accomplishments – both from the technological and from the automotive fields. Its success in these areas has had, and still has, a great contribution toward cementing its status worldwide.

The Company was established in Japan in 1948 as a manufacturer of electric motors, which were installed on bicycles (Honda was in fact the first company to manufacture electric bicycles way back then).
Ever since, and as the years went by, Honda built itself up as a solid, innovative, groundbreaking brand in all matters concerning the development of technologies, unique patents and safety systems.

Mayer Co. obtained the concession to import Honda cars in 1989, thereby initiating a new and exciting era in the Israeli market – an era of high-quality, reliable Japanese cars.
The first models to be imported to Israel came from the United States – the Honda Civic. Immediately following their launch into the Israeli market, these cars became an instant success.
Following that, the Accord models were launched, being the best-selling car in the United States in those days.
Nowadays there are modern, advanced sale and service centers in Israel with a nationwide footprint, addressing every desire or need of the Honda customers in Israel.
