In September 1948, Soichiro Honda founded Honda Motor, realizing there was a need for low-cost, basic transportation to help Japan through its difficult times.
At the outset, following the end of World War II, Honda manufactured bicycle motors. Mopeds were to remain its sole product until 1960.
In the 1960’s Honda focused on substantial improvement and development of its mopeds. In 1969 it launched a motorcycle which transformed it into the world’s largest, leading manufacturer of engines and motorcycles with an output capacity of over 25 million new engines per year!
Since 1992, Mayer Co. has been Honda’s official importer in Israel.
